Background
Eurosign was among the first companies to deliver a system to generate Enhanced Driver Licenses and Identification Cards in the United States. This system was exclusively designed by Eurosign’s team of software and law enforcement experts to comply with the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) protocol. A: Visual Inspection Zone (VIZ) Front of Card

The following items, displayed on the front of the Enhanced DriverLicense Card are the required elements in the VIZ

  • Photograph of driver in high resolution (also saved as a unique biometric QR code)
  • Height (use metric)
  • First and Middle Name: Given Name | Last Name: (Surname)
  • Address: Legal address of driver
  • Issuing Country/Jurisdiction and Agency responsible for issuing credential
  • Date of Birth: International format: 2 digit Day / 2 digit Month / 4 digit Year
  • Document Type: Driver License + Vehicle Class Endorsement
  • Gender (SEX): F = Female, M = Male
  • Document Number: Uniquely identifies the driving license and issue locatio
  • Date of Issue & Expiration: International format: 2 digit Day / 2 digit Month / 4 digit Year
  • Driver License Number: Unique Number generated by algorithm or by using applicant’s personal information
  • Digital Signature: Unique to applican
  • QR Code containing digital Biometric data and can confirm cardholder without Wi-Fi or Cellular service and a database

B: Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) Rear of Card
  • 2D Barcode (PDF 417 Standard) containing information from the Visual Inspection Zone (VIZ)
  • Optical Character recognition (OCR) OCR) which confirms to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Doc 9303 part 3, Volume 1 which enables document use for non-aviation travel to other countries where there are free-travel agreement among countries
